14 Months!

It's amazing how much can change in 14 short months, or long depending on the day you ask me! :p Karter has learned so much in the last few weeks even, he's really developing and figuring things out, its just so fun to watch his little mind at work. I'm sure I'll forget something, but here are some of the things he's started doing in the last month, or at least doing more regularly:
He's starting to copy words and thus is talking a lot more! Lots of them he actually knows the meaning when he says them. Some new words are: more, all done, Santa, up, Hannah (his baby cousin!), and when I say "I Love" he says "Mama!" (my favorite!). My mom swears he says grandma but I haven't heard it :p
He's associating cause and effect and problem solving skills. He can put the balls in the toy, then push the lever that makes them roll down, and he knows how many balls are inside is how many times to push the button. He puts shapes in the corresponding holes and if they dont go in just right (circles work best), he opens the top, puts the block in, then puts the top back on... and claps for himself :p He pushes buttons on toys to make the music go then sits there and dances to it. And not just random buttons, he knows which one to push to make the train go or to turn the music on.
He's walking pretty much everywhere and he eats everything. No more cutting up into little pieces, just hand him a chicken nugget (or 5 as the case may be) and he's good to go! For the most part at least.
He has recently started with some regularity: waving, blowing kisses, and is climbing a lot more. He's up and down on his little chair or a box of toys like nobody's business! He can climb down off things, like the couch or the bed so I don't have to worry AS much about him falling off. But he can be a bit unaware of where he is sometimes, i.e. how close to the edge he is so we're not completely there yet :p
Oh, and when he pushes cars around he makes a little car noise, so cute!
Long story short... my little boy, is growing up :)
I always like to include at least 1 picture in posts because it just makes it more fun you know? So I grabbed my camera to see if I had any pictures on it and these were the only two. The basket was originally standing up and he had thrown his car inside. So he tipped it over and was completely inside the basket, it was pretty funny. Unfortunately by the time I retrieved my camera he was on his way out :p

...car in hand I might add, such a smart boy!

Slumber Party!

Lots of posts this week, we've just had so much going on and so much fun we wanted to share it! :) Last night Karter's cousins, Matthew & Emily came over for a slumber party! The kids all had a good time playing and they got to decorate the tree, even the babies got to help! The two little ones, Karter and Emily both slept in Karter's room. In the morning Matthew woke up because he heard them talking. They weren't crying, just sitting in their cribs talking to each other! How cute is that?!?

Karter playing blocks with his big cousin Matthew :)

Emily LOVED the slide. She could even climb to the top, get her feet over and go down, all by herself!

Cute kids.

Karter's still trying to figure out how to get to the top :p He did manage to push it all the way across the room though!

Decorating the tree

We're in trouble, Karter figured out there were balls on the tree! We had to move them all up and out of his reach :p

We even got our stockings up! Matthew walked in and said "wow, you have stockings and all!" :)

Time for a drink :p

Karter and Matthew playing with the train :)

Getting ready for bed with a goodnight story.

Cutie babies, all ready for their sleepover :)

They were playing in the morning, and got a little quiet (which means trouble!) so I went to see what they were up to. Caught red handed, digging in the dirt! :p

Walking! Karter got all dressed up to go see Santa!

I tried to get a picture of him sitting in his chair in front of the tree, but he kept turning around to look at the lights! :)

My favorite boy in the whole wide world!

Thanksgiving... again :)

I didn't get any pictures of his Thanksgiving dinner yesterday, good thing we had a second chance today! :) He loved it all, he always loves everything :p

Turkey and potatos he's had before, but I found out he loves cranberry sauce, and olives!!

Random cuteness, playing peek-a-boo under my desk :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

I am so thankful for my amazing family and friends, and especially for my perfect little boy :) We've been having a great week at home together, he is the absolute cutest!
Once again, I'm unable to move pictures, so these are a little out of order.
Karter & Cousin Emily

A really cute boy. I'm just saying :p

Playing with Grandma's train set. He loves to watch the train go but it's just a little bit scary! He'll go up and push the button himself then climb up on my lap real quick when it comes by. :p
Such a happy boy! Wearing his new monkey jammies from Great Grandma Jean.

All dressed up for Thanksgiving dinner at GG and Papa's!

So handsome.

His cool new jacket from Grandma Deb :)

Hmm... someone needs to teach him some manners :p

He loved playing with Papa's smooth rocks!

Trip to Spokane

Karter and I took a little trip to Spokane, it was really nice just to get away for a few days. :) We had a great time visiting with family, playing games, playing in the snow, and just hanging out relaxing. Karter got to meet his Aunt Brittaney for the first time, as well as some great grandparents. We even got to go to cousin Ava's 1st birthday party! Karter is learning so much and it was fun to just play. No work or daycare, no chores or cleaning to do, no errands to run... sometimes thats all you need to rejuvinate! He's walking a lot now, waving more regularly, he does a little shoulder shrug to say "I dont know" and its just fun to watch him think. He's a funny little boy with so much character! When he gets to laughing you'll just melt :)

So I probably should have split this into a couple different posts, but too late now... and this was weeding through a lot of pictures!! :p Too bad I failed to get a good picture of him with Grandma or Aunt Brittaney :( Oh well, an excuse for another visit I guess!

Playing with Grandma and Aunt Brittaney. Grandma was prepared for just such an occassion, she's been collecting toys for the grandbabies! :)

The kid is obsessed with balls :p

So grandma collected a whole pile of them from all around the house!

Hanging out with his buddy, Uncle Dylan. He would literally follow him around the house, it was pretty cute.

Cousin Ava with Aunt Brittaney and Great Grandpa!

Ava's birthday cake... took her awhile to get into it...
...but she sure figured it our after awhile! :)

Great Grandma made sure Karter got his cake too!

Ava & her daddy, Karter's Uncle Nate :)

Karter kept stealing Ava's favorite toy, he's a bit of a bully sometimes :p

Little Miss Ava :)
They just moved to Spokane so we're glad we got to visit! Karter wont get to see her as often anymore.

Karter's hat was too small so we Got Karter and Ava matching hats while we were there :) (see Karter's snow pictures)

Baby boy getting ready for bed.

Checking out the snow Sunday morning!

Walking!

His cool hat from Uncle Dylan, it has a little bill (I'm not cool enough to know what this kind of hat is called) :p I think it was too small for Dylan so he passed it down to Karter :)

Good morning buddy!

Eating his first snow! What? It's a right of passage! It was fresh! :) (tell me his little boots are not the cutest thing you've ever seen!)

Being pulled in the sled by Uncle Dylan

His favorite thing in the world, we couldn't go without showing him a snowball!

My baby :)

How can you not be in love with this kid?!?

The boys made a snowman! Okay, Karter just watched :p

I would like to say, "warming up with a nice cup of hot chocolate!", but not so much, all he got was cold milk. He seemed ok with that though :p

Cuties!! They were sharing some crackers!

Ava fed them to Karter, what a nice girl :)

Grandma gave him bouncy rides on her foot, he loved it!!

Playing at the airport waiting to go home. This boy got up from his nap around noon.. slept in the car on the way to the airport for maybe a half hour, and that's it! Awake at the airport, awake on the plane, awake in the car on the way home, he didn't get to sleep until after 9:00! He did sleep in the next morning though, what a treat! Mommy didn't have to get up until 8:00!

Shake, Shake, Shake...

Karter is almost 14 months now! He's added some new words to his vocabulary... hot, hat, moo, eye, apple, and he uses them all correctly too! He is quite the smart boy! He's walking a lot more now. Not all the time but he will venture off on his own without being tricked :p I think in the next week or so it will be all over! :) He loves to dance and to read books and is getting quite good at putting the shapes in the matching holes! He just keeps getting bigger, I feel like if I blink I'll miss something! And he is such a charmer. He'll be in the middle of playing and just come over to give me a hug, then scurry on his little way, such a sweetie :)

Beautiful blue eyes :)
He's getting too big for all his toys!

video

Dancing & Walking :)
He usually always plays peek-a-boo and he loves it, he cracks up! My sister said he goes over to his baby cousin and plays with her :p

video

I had to find a flashlight to look at something outside, Karter saw it and asked so nicely if he could play with it :p So of course I let him... he's too cute to resist! It wasn't actually as dark as it seems in the video.
