It's amazing how much can change in 14 short months, or long depending on the day you ask me! :p Karter has learned so much in the last few weeks even, he's really developing and figuring things out, its just so fun to watch his little mind at work. I'm sure I'll forget something, but here are some of the things he's started doing in the last month, or at least doing more regularly:
He's starting to copy words and thus is talking a lot more! Lots of them he actually knows the meaning when he says them. Some new words are: more, all done, Santa, up, Hannah (his baby cousin!), and when I say "I Love" he says "Mama!" (my favorite!). My mom swears he says grandma but I haven't heard it :p
He's associating cause and effect and problem solving skills. He can put the balls in the toy, then push the lever that makes them roll down, and he knows how many balls are inside is how many times to push the button. He puts shapes in the corresponding holes and if they dont go in just right (circles work best), he opens the top, puts the block in, then puts the top back on... and claps for himself :p He pushes buttons on toys to make the music go then sits there and dances to it. And not just random buttons, he knows which one to push to make the train go or to turn the music on.
He's walking pretty much everywhere and he eats everything. No more cutting up into little pieces, just hand him a chicken nugget (or 5 as the case may be) and he's good to go! For the most part at least.
He has recently started with some regularity: waving, blowing kisses, and is climbing a lot more. He's up and down on his little chair or a box of toys like nobody's business! He can climb down off things, like the couch or the bed so I don't have to worry AS much about him falling off. But he can be a bit unaware of where he is sometimes, i.e. how close to the edge he is so we're not completely there yet :p
Oh, and when he pushes cars around he makes a little car noise, so cute!
Long story short... my little boy, is growing up :)
